As an example of my graduate research is reflected in a Microsoft Sway project that looked at eLearners profiles and preferences of older adult life-long learners experiencing mid-career shifts or seeking post-professional life enhancement. I was able to better understand demographic trends, such as the increasing population percentage over 50 in the U.S. and how institutions such as Stanford and Harvard are engaging this demographic through their Distinguished Careers Institute and Advanced Leadership Initiative respectively. The Sway assignment also contributed to my professional development by acknowledging and naming the unique needs of mature, adult lifelong learners, including potential technical challenges and the importance of fostering engagement.
